Historical data from the Roman ages are very important here, as some interesting remains have been discovered. The natural road of this area was great for communication with the Roman road as it used to pass by here following Antonino’s itinerary, which was changed by Emperor Adriano in the 2nd Century. This route is well documented also during the Middle Ages, following the course of the river Viar.
