Leaving Montamarta you will cross Ricobayo Reservoir, passing by Virgen del Castillo Chapel, and continuing parallel to the N-630 until getting to the intersection with the N-525. Here, you will continue following the N-630 on a parallel path, towards the ruins of Castrotorafe Castle (Headquarters of the Order of Santiago Knights). From here, you will keep going on to Fontanillas de Castro, and then to Riego del Camino, a little village you will cross to get to Granja de Moreruela.
From Granja de Moreruela you have two options to get to Santiago: you can follow the causeway towards Astorga and join the French Way, or you can head northwest to go on the Sanabria Way, passing by Orense.
4 km from the village you will find Moreruela Monastery, the first one belonging to the Cistercian Order in Spain, and it is from the 11th Century. Destroyed by Almanzor, it was rebuilt a century later; then, it was abandoned during the Expropriation, and now you can only see some walls.
