You will take about 7 or 8 hours to walk this stage of almost 30 km. We advise to start with enough water and food for the route, as there are no shops or facilities along this stretch.
You will leave Castilblanco via Almadén road and will walk 16 km on it until you get to the entrance to El Berrocal Forest Park. Here, the pilgrim will have to choice of keeping on the road or go across the park. We recommend the second option, as it is more interesting and nicer, but make sure the park is not closed.
2 km ahead you will find La Morilla (a forest house), where the forest ranger’s house is located; this is a place where you might be able to get some water. Continue on a paved path for some km and when you get to a milestone, you will have to turn left; after crossing a small bridge, leaving to the left some abandon houses, you will get out of the ranch through a gate and then cross another one later on.
At this point on the way, you will start ascending towards Alto del Calvario. The descent to Almadén is short but quite pronounced.
