You will depart from Santiago Cathedral via Calle Tendería to then cross San Antón Bridge and keep going on Calle San Francisco towards Zabalburu square. Via Calle Autonomía, you will continue until you take the road Basurto-Kastrexana, heading towards Kobeta Mountain going through Altamira Borough. Once you get to the top, soon after taking the road to the left, you will have to leave it and take a path that goes down on the right. You will start descending the mountain slope by different paths until you get to the upper area of Kastrexana. Keep descending and, after going under a short tunnel, you will get to Bilbao Balmadeda road, very close to Diablo Bridge over river Cadagua, which is the natural frontier between Bilbao and Barakaldo.

In Urgozo Borough, you will follow the road that later leads to the medieval road ascending towards Santa Agueda Chapel. From here, you will start descending to Cruces Borough until you get to a water tank. Here, you will turn left and keep descending. Once you get to the first houses of Cruces, you will turn left towards the football pitch and then take the cycle lane that goes down to the sports centre. From here, you will get to Retuerto Borough.

Soon after passing under the highway, you will get to a roundabout, where you will turn left towards the new commercial zone, taking a detour to the right to then follow the cycle lane. On the same roundabout the road that goes straight on leads to Barakaldo centre. After passing by the cemetery, you will keep walking towards Sestao on the right edge of the river Galindo, crossing it later on by an old iron bridge.

Once you get to Urbinaga area, you will have to follow the signs to go through Sestao and get to the town hall, where you will turn right towards Calle Azeta. This street will take you to Santa María de Portugalete Church while you enjoy a wondrous sight of the estuary.
