VP13 - Cañaveral - Galisteo - 28 km

Itinerary

You will leave Cañaveral going up to Puerto de los Castaños (cyclists should better take the road towards Grimaldo). In front of the station, you will leave the N-630 and take an ascending path that, after leaving San Cristobal Chapel to the left, will lead you towards the top of Puerto de los Castaños, passing by the fire-break and the TV antenna, and continuing to the road, where you will follow on the right until you have passed the hotel. Follow the arrows and you will find a porthole and a path that descends parallel to the causeway (on the left), with a metallic fence separating them. You will reach another porthole and cross a stream. Then, follow the lane to the right and half a km later you will get to Grimaldo. Keep going on the path (now with a metallic fence on the right side) and cross the road to Holguera, then continue across some ranches.

Once you get to the place of Cuatro Términos, you will descend to the metallic fence and turn right. Go on until you get to Riolobos Dam. Go through another porthole, turn left and you will cross a stream to then follow the road to the right for 1 km. Leave it turning left and entering a path with more portholes, which will lead you to a irrigation canal; follow it on the right side until you arrive at a house with a fountain. Continue descending towards Sapo Stream, cross it and keep going on the causeway, which you will leave turning left to get to Galisteo.
