At Plaza do Concello (in Triacastela), the Way branches off in two different paths both of them leading to Sarria. In this stage, we suggest the historical and more direct way, through San Xil Valley.
From Plaza Do Concello, you will turn right, following the course of Valdoscuro pool via an old path surrounded by birch trees, oaks, chestnut trees and black poplars, until you get to Balsa.
From here, you will ascend to a paved road, next to a great and modern pilgrim fountain, soon before arriving at San Xil, leaving the worker’s house on the left.
You will keep ascending to Alto de Riocabo, turning left to take a passage leading to another paved road entering Montán. Then, you will pass by a worker’s house and continue to Fontearcuda. After crossing the road again, you will get to Furela.
Following the road, you will pass by Brea, Pintín, San Esteban de Calvor Church, Aguiada, San Mamede, San Pedro Do Camiño and Vigo, which belongs to Sarria.
Once inside Sarria, you will cross the bridge over the River Ouribio and following Rúa do Peregrino, Escalinata Mayor and Rúa Mayor, you will go up to the Magdalena Convent.
